Flake Calls Police Emergency Because Her Snowman Was Stolen

The Kent, UK, police branded a
woman as "completely irresponsible" for calling the police 999
emergency number to report that her snowman was "nicked." At
the time the police were dealing with a blizzard of emergency calls
(thousands) due to extreme weather conditions.
Chief
Inspector Simon Black said, "This call could have cost someone's life
if there was a genuine emergency and they couldn't get through."
The police say they have educated the woman as to what constitutes an
emergency.
Here is the conversation between the snow flake and the police
emergency operator:
Woman: "Well,
what happened was there's been a theft outside my house."
Operator:
"OK, when did this occur?"
Woman:
"Well, I'm not sure exactly because I hadn't been out to check on him
for about 5 hours. I went out about 5 minutes ago to have a fag and
he's gone so it could be in the last 5 hours but I know
<garbled>
Operator:
"Who's gone, sorry?"
Woman:
"My snowman."
Operator:
"Right, your snowman's been stolen."
Woman:
"Yeah."
Operator:
"Right, OK, in the last 5 hours?"
Woman:
"Well, 4 to 5 hours, I can't be sure exactly."
Operator:
"Well, what do you mean? A snowman actually made out of snow or an
ornament?"
Woman: "No,
he's made out of snow. I made him myself."
Operator:
"Right, OK"
Woman:
"It had two of my teaspoons in his arms and money on his face. I'm not
being funny. I know it's only a snowman. That would
absolutely be fine but I thought that with it being icy and
there not being anybody about, he'd be safe. It ain't a nice
road but at the end of the day, you don't expect someone to nick your
snowman, you know what I mean?"
Note:
In the UK a "fag" is a slang term for a cigarette.
